Side by side with great international names, Djavan’s concert is sold out in London. In a short time, since it was announced by the British-Brazilian music production Backstage Production UK, hundreds of tickets were quickly sold out among Brazilians and MPB lovers.

It was the warmest London-Monday at the Barbican Hall at this cold end of the year. The Brazilian singer played again in the UK at 11 November, but at this time at one of the most popular British theatre, gathering more than 3,000 people. The audience made chorus, applauded each song, and was moved by the singer from Alagoas.

Djavan made a wonderful concert. With his sympathy and punctuality, he took the stage carrying hits from his 24th album Vesuvio, in addition to the songs that eternalized his career. The audience made chorus, applauded each song, and was moved by the singer from Alagoas, one of the most beautiful regions of Brazil.

After 2 hours of concert, and a huge wave of cheers, Djavan said he is already missing London and the Brazilian living there.

In fact, feelings are synchronized. “What a monumental concert in London”, somebody said at a queue of fans trying to get inside of the backstage to take a picture with Djavan.

DL – How did you feel yourself among the Brazilians here tonight?

I loved it! Since a long time, I didn’t sing here in London. It was great again. I am already missing London and all Brazilian people living here. I was looking forward to it. The concert was wonderful, it looks like people were really missing my soungs, and so was I, so it was a perfect symbiosis. And I’m leaving for Madrid already missing London, a wonderful city.

DL – Today you met more than 3 thousand people who miss Brazil. What would you say to them?

I say that Brazil is an incredible country, despite we are in a crisis moment, a political crisis. Brazil is in transformation, as well as the world. And growth is something that causes pain. But I am a man of great hope, very optimistic. I am sure that Brazil will be great again and we will be a such big country, as we deserve.

Djavan is still touring with the album “Vesuvio”. For the singer, the shows in Europe are a special moment of the tour. The singer is accompanied by old band mates such as guitarist Torcuato Mariano and pianists Paulo Calasans and Renato Fonseca, and two new musicians, bassist Arthur de Palla and drummer Felipe Alves. The concert of the Djavan is one of the most waited events in London.
