The song “Festa do Tubarão” by legendary Dona Onete won a remix of DJ Ricardo Imperatore, a Brazilian who lives in Portugal and signs partnerships with renowned artists such as Marisa Monte, Titãs, Natalie Cole and others. He told us how this work was born. Check it out!
The year was 2012…
I was at Circo Voador – emblematic music venue in Rio de Janeiro to check the headliner of the night, a band full of friends of mine and the unexpected happened:
The opening act blew my mind and soul!
There she was, Dona Onete, a 70 years young lady and it was her first gig ever. At 70 years young!!!
Now she’s 80. Again, it happened.
When I listened to “Festa do Tubarão”, my mind and soul, once more…boom!
I called Geraldo Magalhães, my personal friend and her manager to propose to remix that awesome track and the result out of the remix was approved by the hurricane, Onete.
The pop and fun and sophisticated and on the very top of all that spicy music Dona Onete does… That’s what grab us. This remix takes all that in consideration.
