Ignored by the president of brazil, Moraes Moreira’s legacy is celebrated in a New York Times article

Moraes Moreira, an exuberantly prolific Brazilian songwriter who fused the regional traditions of his home state, Bahia, with an ever-changing array of styles in a career that stretched from the late 1960s through the 2010s, died on Monday (13) at his home in Rio de Janeiro. He was 72.

With his death Ignored by the president of Brazil, as well as by the country’s secretary of culture, Moraes had his beautiful career remembered in a beautiful article by the American newspaper New York Times.
